Ocho Rios & Dunn's River Falls

Dunns River FallsDepart for a delightful ride along Jamaica's beautiful north coast to Ocho Rios, one of Jamaica's newly developed resort areas. This tour journeys through Falmouth, an aquaint fishing village which has the distinction of having the first organized street system in the western world, and Columbus Park at Discovery Bay, the magnificent aquamarine inlet where Christopher Columbus first landed. Continue through Runaway Bay and St. Ann's Bay before arriving in Ocho Rios to spend the morning bargain shopping through the towns many craft markets and in-bond shops. Then begin your adventurous climb up the 600-foot waterfall, or relax and swim at the foot of the falls, which cascade into the Caribbean Sea. (Please bring beach attire and a towel. Aqua socks are available to rent for US$5.00 at the beach.)

Appleton Estate Tours

Visit the legendary Appleton Distillery nestled in the picturesque Nassau Valley on Jamaica's south coast. Enjoy a welcome drink, then tour the Appleton Estate, Distillery and ageing House. You will see how the sugar cane is grounded for juice and you can taste the freshly made wet sugar. There will be a demonstration of the cooperage of barrels and a taste-test of the 14 different flavours of rum made on the estate. A Day In The Country

Code: JAM03 (9:00-13:30) Cost: $60.00 per person

Start the day with a lovely 1/2-hour drive through the mountainous interior west of Montego Bay. On arrival in village Lethe, board a 30-foot bamboo raft for a breathtaking ride down the Great River. Rafting on the Great RiverThe raft captain explains the flora and fauna while you glide gently down the river and through the valley with its awesome gorges. At the end of the raft trip, board a tractor-drawn jitney (hayride style) and travel to a small banana and pineapple plantation. Driver will give you a tour of the plantation and explain some amazing facts about the banana plant. Then proceed to the "Green" to see the barefoot climbing of a 75-foot coconut tree. After watching this incredible sight and sampling the coconut water and jelly, you will be escorted to the liqueur shed liqueurs of Jamaica. You will also be offered a complimentary drink Pina Colada. The Pina Coada is made directly from the coconut meat and you will be shown how to make it at home. A hot country-style barbecue lunch with fruit drinks is served before you return to the ship.

Rose Hall Great House

Rose Hall Great HouseFrom the pier, make your way through
the hustle and bustle towards the famous Rose Hall Great House, once the oplent home of Jamaica's white witch Annie Palmer. She practiced voodoo and had three husbands who all died under mysterious circumstances. Legend has it that she was a beautiful seductress who dallied with the hired help. The house was built in the mid-19th century and is
of Georgian architecture. You will be hosted with a "witches brew" of your choice. Continue to the City Centre for duty-free shopping as well as a visit to local craft market.

Dreamer CruisesDepart by bus for the famous Doctors Cave Beach where you will board a 63-foot catamaran to sail and snorkel in Montego Bay Marine Park. (Snorkelling equipment
is provided.) After snorkelling, visit Margaretville Sports Bar By the Sea before returning to Doctors Cave Beach.

Dunns River FAllsThis includes a unique combination of sightseeing, shopping and visit the 600-ft. waterfalls-Dunn's River Falls. Shopping will take place at Sony's Plaza and Gem Palace for duty free in-bond merchandise, and a visit to the local craft market for Jamaican handcrafts.

Then we will stop at the local Jerk Centre to experience the taste of real Jamaican Cuisine-jerk chicken, jerk pork and festival. Afterwards, take a visit to Dunn's River Falls. Climb the falls in a human chain led by experienced Fall Guides, and if you can't, then relax and swim at the foot of the Falls cascading into the Caribbean Sea. ^go up

Prospect Plantation, Shopping and Dunn's River Falls

Jamaica was once a plantation colony and its legacy is evident in numerous working plantations. Tour begins with shopping in town then journey to Prospect Plantation.
Pospct Plantation At Prospect, you will be taken through the estate by a covered tractor-drawn jitney, while a guide introduces the various such as banana, sugarcane, pineapple, coffee and papaya. Find out why banana grows up and down. During the tour, you will be given an opportunity to sample many of the fruits in season. After leaving Prospect, the group will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ocho Rios, while visiting the Sony's Plaza for in bond duty free shopping, then the craft market for Jamaican handi-crafts.

The climax of the tour is a visit to the island's famous beauty spot-Dunn's River Falls. Here the group will be encouraged to join the fun and climb the 600-ft cascading waterfalls in a human chain led by experienced Fall Guides. On their way to the top, they will pause at the "massage parlor" and experience the soothing effects of the waters as it cascades to the sea, or just relax on the beach and enjoy the sun. If they are a souvenir hunter with a genuine love for woodcarving, straw craft and intuitive art are available, or they can browse through the shops in the Craft Park.

Rafting on the Martha Brae

Rafting is a rare pleasure and this can be experienced on - gliding down on a winding course on a two-seater bamboo raft. Named after Martha Brae, an Arawak girl, legend has it that she had supernatural powers. Rafting on the Martha BraeShe was captured and tortured by Spanish soldiers to reveal the location of the secret gold mine. Eventually, she promised to lead the soldiers to the mine.
However, on reaching the river she called up her powers and changes its course, drowning the soldiers and herself. it is said that her ghost still guards the entrance to the mine. Ponder on the legend while you glide downstream by a local captain. The is a feast for the senses as you float along the serene waters and lush vegetation. The age-old chrome of the river and the coolness of the shade provides an enchanting and memorable atmosphere. On the ride to Martha Brae in Falmouth you will travel along the coast passing through towns and villages. ^go up

Bob Marley "Reggae" Nine Miles Tour

A quaint village in the beautiful mountains of St. Ann's.
 It was here on February 6th 1945 the legendary " King of Reggae" was born and it is the very same place where he is laid to rest. A tour of Nine Miles starts at the family home where the history began and where some of Bob's close relatives still resides. Re-live insights into Bob's childhood and musical career before a walk through the mauselium, which is the final resting place of the Reggae King. After the tour get a chance to visit Brown's Town Market (to mingle a little with the rural folks) then stopping at a Jamaican Jerk Centre to try our famous jerks after which you'll return to the cruise ship.
